A Belgian brand renowned for its artistic and sophisticated aesthetic, Baobab stands out through its hand-crafted and hand-decorated glass and ceramic pieces, in which material and light play a central role.
A Resin Signature
To enhance these vessels, we produce flexible domed resin labelling, available in more than ten colourways, with gold or silver detailing.
The resin complements the glass, gently following its curves. Both materials capture and reflect the light, allowing it to move freely across the surface. Its lustre mirrors that of the vessel, while its tone blends seamlessly with the nuances of the container.
Smooth to the touch, the raised finish introduces a subtle contrast with the flat surface beneath. It sits lightly on the vessel, creating a refined interplay between depth and transparency without disturbing the overall harmony.
Its flexibility and durability ensure excellent long-term performance, whether used indoors or outdoors.

Doming – A Technique with Wide-Ranging Possibilities
SMI has worked with resin for many years and has developed extensive expertise across its many applications.
- Varied shapes – rectangular plates as seen with Baobab, as well as circular and oval formats, medallions and wax-seal effects.
- All sizes – from micro-labelling no larger than a pen tip to large-scale lettering designed for window displays.
- Complete or partial doming – resin may cover the entire labelling surface or be applied to specific areas to create contrast and visual depth.
- Adhesion across multiple materials – glass, ceramic, metal, plastic, wood, textiles and other textured surfaces.
- Technical combinations – resin can, for example, be applied over Transcript A.T. labelling to add depth and protection, or combined with textiles to create distinctive tactile effects.
- Tailored finishes – available in matt or gloss, with options including embossing, printing or brushing.
