VELVET: the suede-effect raised lettering

One of the trends in premium labelling that we highlighted in our article on the subjectis the growing importance of touch in the packaging experience.

We therefore set out to develop a new type of raised lettering that naturally invites touch and adds a more sensory dimension to both packaging and point-of-sale displays.

VELVET combines a subtle relief with a soft surface to create either a velvet or suede-effect finish, depending on the material selected.

A soft material, with no animal-derived components

The velvet and suede materials used for this label are made from artificial or composite fibres, combining synthetic and natural fibres depending on the chosen reference. They therefore contain no animal-derived materials.

Available in around ten colours, ranging from black and red to midnight blue, they can be adapted to a wide variety of visual identities.

A fine relief, achieved through laser cutting

At just 0.6 mm thick, VELVET retains a subtle relief, yet remains pronounced enough to be immediately felt to the touch.

The shapes and letters are produced using laser cutting, allowing precise contours to be achieved even with relatively fine designs.

A material designed for the luxury sector

Velvet and suede naturally evoke refinement, prestige, mystery and sensuality. Applied to labelling, these materials add a tactile dimension to a brand’s visual identity and enrich the experience of the product or space.

VELVET is particularly well suited to point-of-sale applications, including window displays, walls, display units and decorative features. Its potential applications also extend to presentation boxes, furniture and decorative elements.

Still relatively unusual in the field of labelling, this material opens up new possibilities for creating strong, sensory brand identities.
